DC Poonch says 'we are in contact with Army in this regard'

Srinagar, January 30 (KNO) : Despite having completed all legal formalities, a Pakistan administered Kashmir resident is not being allowed to visit his relatives in Jammu and Kashmir and has been stopped in Poonch area, disallowing him to cross. The boy, who is a resident of village Bandi, Tehsil Khuiratta, District Kotli, PaK was scheduled to visit his uncle Mohammad Mahroof son of Faqir Mohammad resident of Behrote. His uncle is a village head. The boy had reached Poonch through Chakan Da Bagh bus service on 28th Jan, under his permit number P-75168. His permit is to expire on Feb 25. The boy was disallowed to cross gate at LoC by Army on Feb 28. The boy next day returned along with some locals met DDC Poonch. Police Post Balakote forwarded the letter sharing details about the entire matter and issued a permission letter to him. The letter was granted with a ride that he should produce ID proof to Army man on LoC gate for their identification. Even after producing the same as asked he was still not let cross the loC gate. On Jan 30, they again approached the Army but was denied to cross over. The boy, aspiring to meet his grandmother and other relatives urged authorities to allow him to reach the village to meet his relatives. District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch told KNO that, “we are in constant touch with Army over this matter.”(KNO)
